pallid @ Saturday, November 1st 2008, 4:48 AM I have a giant Hokusai poster hanging in my living room and I thought I'd recreate the image in a drawing of my own. Lately I've been copying a lot of old masters' paintings for Comp/Color class and its motivated me to try out some of the concepts I've learned in this drawing. My biggest challenge in art is contrast so that's one of the main things I kept in mind while working. I like your single character below better. She seems to have a bit more personality in her expression than all of these characters combined. And without a story, I found myself drawn to her wondering what her story was. These guys (and gal?) just seem like stock anime characters... and since everybody and there cousin seems to draw anime nowadays... well, nnnh... I look at them and can at best say... cool, Pallid drew this. That said ::before you beat me over the head with a shoe and never speak to me again:: if there was an interesting story behind them, then I don't see why these characters wouldn't be appealing! As always your artwork is very clean and attractive. Hope you don't mind my crits x__x;; if you do, just tell me to shut up and I'll totally retract! It's nice to see you oekaki'ing again! Edit: if you do create a story, would you make it serialized or a one/two volume type?
